Family practice physicians provide for physical, mental and emotional health of a patient, and often the entire family. As primary care providers, Family Practitioners take care of routine health care, screening tests, annual exams, and chronic medical problems. Family Practitioners must complete three years of training following medical school. Their training programs include surgery, OB/GYN, psychiatry, pediatrics, as well as adult medicine, thus equipping them to care for patients from infancy through adulthood. The Family Practitioners at the Clinics of North Texas have the added benefit of a close working relationship with colleagues in multiple subspecialties.
